Facing the challenge of expanding their virtual production capabilities, Fox Sports has turned to Pixotope's real-time rendering platform. Their new LED volume features 54 million pixels powered by 32 Pixotope XR engines, creating environments so realistic that viewers feel like they're right there in the studio.
Cameras can capture different angles simultaneously through GhostFrame technology, so the control room can see live previews, with the ability to cut cameras at the speed of the on-screen conversation.
With both Stage A & B up and running over the summer break, this is one of the most ambitious virtual production setups in sports broadcasting, and they can be live every day for shows like Fox NFL Sunday and The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
