Oslo, Norway - November 18, 2025 - Pixotope, the leading provider of live augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR), and virtual studio (VS) solutions announces the delivery of six Pixotope XR engines and a Pixotope Vision camera tracking system to the Portuguese group EMAV and Plural Entertainment Portugal. This strategic project, developed in partnership with VANTeC, aims to establish a next-generation virtual studio.
Combining Pixotope’s advanced real-time graphics and tracking technologies with Alfalite’s high-performance LED wall panels, the new studio marks a significant milestone for the Portuguese audiovisual industry.

A project led by key industry players
EMAV (Empresa de Meios Audiovisuais, Lda., a subsidiary of the Media Capital group) specializes in technical services and human and technological resources for audiovisual production. With several decades of experience, EMAV operates studios, mobile units, and technical infrastructures for the country’s largest television productions.
Plural Entertainment Portugal, also part of the Media Capital group, is one of Portugal’s leading producers of audiovisual content. Renowned for its expertise in fiction and entertainment formats, Plural is also active in international co-productions and global content distribution.
VANTeC is the project's technology integrator, responsible for designing the workflow, integrating the Pixotope XR and Vision systems with the LED wall, and providing training and technical support for the implementation of real-time immersive solutions for EMAV and Plural.

Pixotope Vision and XR for LED virtual production
At the core of EMAV's virtual production workflow are Pixotope Graphics and Tracking solutions: Vision for camera tracking and XR engines for real-time graphics rendering.
Vision tracks camera position, rotation, zoom, and focus using hybrid visible & infrared sensors mounted on broadcast cameras.
The six Pixotope XR engines process this tracking data to render real-time virtual backgrounds on the LED wall that update instantly with camera movements, maintaining precise alignment between physical and virtual elements.
Directors see the final composite in-camera during filming, eliminating green screen workflows and reducing post-production schedules from weeks to days.
